XLSMART Partners with Tencent Cloud to Migrate Over 1,000 Microservices

Tencent Cloud has helped Indonesian telecommunications operator XLSMART migrate more than 1,000 microservices as the two companies explore broader collaboration in cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) (29/10).

The development was highlighted at the 2026 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit on October 29, as Tencent announced its expanding international business, enterprise AI developments, and global partnerships.

Tencent Cloud's active overseas customer base has doubled over the past year, while international demand for its AI products and services has recorded triple-digit growth. The company now serves customers in more than 150 countries and regions.

Dowson Tong, Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent and CEO of the Cloud and Smart Industries Group, said, “AI is creating new opportunities for businesses, but its real value comes when it can be applied to everyday operations and adopted at scale. At Tencent Cloud, we’re bringing together our AI models, tools such as WorkBuddy, and cloud infrastructure to help more businesses put AI to work, building on their strengths and unlocking new opportunities for growth.”

Tencent Cloud and XLSMART Explore Broader Cloud and AI Collaboration

The collaboration between Tencent Cloud and XLSMART is part of the company's international partnerships in Southeast Asia.

Tencent Cloud has supported XLSMART, an Indonesian telecommunications operator, in migrating more than 1,000 microservices. The two companies are also exploring broader opportunities for collaboration in cloud computing and AI.

In addition to XLSMART, Tencent Cloud is exploring broader cloud and AI collaboration with Indonesian telecommunications operators Telkomsel and Indosat.

These partnerships are part of Tencent Cloud's efforts to expand its presence in international markets through cooperation with local enterprises.

The company reported that its active overseas customer base doubled over the past year, while its international AI business achieved triple-digit growth, driven by strong demand for agentic AI solutions.

Tencent Cloud also reported that nine out of ten Chinese internet companies expanding globally use its services.

Tencent Expands Enterprise AI Products with WorkBuddy

At the 2026 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit, the company introduced the enterprise capabilities of WorkBuddy, its AI-powered office productivity agent.

Since its launch in March, WorkBuddy has handled more than nine billion task requests. Its adoption covers more than 50 industries and includes 50 percent of China's top 500 enterprises.

The platform's ecosystem has also grown to include more than 50,000 developers and partners and over 200,000 skills, bringing AI capabilities into everyday business workflows.

Tencent is expanding WorkBuddy for international enterprises. The platform connects with widely used messaging applications and enterprise systems, allowing teams to complete tasks using tools they already work with.

Businesses can select the AI model that best fits each task, while built-in security controls support enterprise use.

Tencent has also launched CodeBuddy, WorkBuddy, Miora, the Agent Development Platform (ADP), MAGIC AI, and Agent Runtime internationally. These products enable Chinese and international teams to collaborate through the same AI workbench.

In China, Tencent has introduced Buddy One, a cross-application collaboration system that allows WorkBuddy to coordinate tasks across Tencent's office applications and specialized business agents.

Hy4 AI Models Prepare for General Release

Tencent also previewed its upcoming Hy4 model, which is designed to improve performance in complex, real-world productivity tasks.

The general release of Hy4 is expected soon, with improvements in long-horizon task execution, reasoning efficiency, and visual understanding capabilities for the first time.

Tencent is also preparing Hy4 Flash, a more cost-effective model that retains Hy4's visual understanding and agentic capabilities.

The company develops its AI models alongside its products and applications to support practical AI implementation.

Enterprises will be able to access Tencent's Hy models and leading third-party models through Tencent Cloud TokenHub, a unified platform that provides access through a single API.

Businesses can select models based on performance and cost while managing access, usage, governance, and billing in one place.

Tencent Cloud Expands Global Infrastructure and Partnerships

Tencent Cloud is continuing to expand its international infrastructure to support growing demand for cloud computing and AI services.

During 2026, the company expanded infrastructure capacity in locations including Frankfurt, Osaka, Riyadh, Malaysia, Mexico, and Thailand.

Its global infrastructure now covers 25 cloud regions and 70 availability zones. Over the next year, Tencent Cloud plans to expand further across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

The company provides public, dedicated, private, and hybrid cloud environments to meet different enterprise deployment requirements.

Through Tencent Cloud Enterprise (TCE), businesses can access the full-stack capabilities of public cloud within environments they control. This allows enterprises to modernize their operations for cloud-native and AI-native environments while retaining control over sensitive data and critical workloads.

Tencent Cloud's international partnerships also include companies across several regions.

In Thailand, CP AXTRA is working with Tencent Cloud to modernize operations across supply chain management, finance, and other functions. In Hong Kong and Macao, customers include Hung Fook Tong and Fusion Bank, with Tencent Cloud's business recording steady growth for seven consecutive years.

In Japan and South Korea, Tencent Cloud works with Kakao, Com2uS, Gokko, and Pokekara.

In Europe, payments provider iyzico and Eastern European e-commerce platform eMAG have migrated workloads to Tencent Cloud, with ongoing collaboration in big data and AI.

In Brazil, Extreme Digital Solutions (EDS) and Positivo work with Tencent Cloud to deliver PalmAI and other cloud-based solutions to local businesses.

At the summit, Tencent Cloud also announced new partnerships with Alsaif Gallery, Hoolive, OmniOps, and TruKKer in the Middle East, as well as Infosys Solusi Terpadu and Central Retail Digital in other markets.

With Central Retail Digital, Tencent Cloud is exploring how AI agents can strengthen competitiveness and support innovation in retail.

The summit also welcomed the founding cohort of the Tencent Cloud Fellow Program, which brings together technology and industry leaders to exchange expertise and share practical experiences in AI adoption.
